A thorough physical examination is the foundation of our high quality pet care and can tell us a lot of about your pet’s health. Physical exams are important both for screening your pet for medical issues before they become more serious, and to address any issues that you have identified.
At each comprehensive exam appointment we take the time to get to know your pet and you. We'll discuss optimum care recommendations with you, determine appropriate preventive care choices with you, and thoroughly examine your pet from nose to tail. Our exam appointments might take a bit longer than you have experienced elsewhere, and that gives you time to ask questions and to go over Ark's customized "Exam Report" that each of our clients is given, detailing the exam findings and doctor's recommendations for your pet.
During your pet’s physical exam, our veterinarian will perform a nose to tail examination, checking your pet’s eyes, ears, mouth, teeth and gums, lymph glands, nose, throat, heart, lungs, abdomen, skin and coat, bones, joints, and paws, for any signs of abnormalities. If your pet has symptoms of an underlying medical condition, we will discuss treatment options to get your pet back to good health as quickly as possible.
As your pet grows older, it is especially important to bring your cat or dog in for a checkup to ensure there are no hidden signs of trouble. If your pet begins to shows signs of illness such as change in eating or drinking habits, change in weight, lethargy, vomiting, or any unusual behavior, please schedule an appointment with us for a physical exam.
